Prototype SAX folding chair Jens Quistgaard.
Jens Harald Quistgaard 1919-2008.
SAX Chair – PROTOTYPE – has never been put into production.
Chair with folding solid teak frame, seat and back mounted with full-grain leather, full-grain leather armrests.
The chair was designed in the 1970s and 1980s and completed in 1987. Copy of the original drawing and model for the brass mounts included.
This chair was produced by JHQ himself and has stood in his own home – the brass mounts bear his initials.
IQ Designs represented JHQ in the period from 2002 until his death in 2008, and IQ Designs had two further models of the SAX Chair produced – one in ash and one in pine.
